Director

Dr. Wafic Sabra is a Professor in the Physics Department. He received his doctorate in theoretical physics at the University of London and held postdoctoral positions at the University of London and Humboldt University, Berlin. He was then appointed as a Lecturer at Queen Mary College, London University.

His field of interest is String theory.

Dr. Paul Atie (home page) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and was a visiting scientist and then research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

His research interests are distributed computing and software engineering, in particular the application of mathematical logic and automata theory to the construction of large distributed software systems.
 

Dr. Marwan Darwish is a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He is currently serving as the Chair of Mechanical Engineering Department.

Prof. Darwish received his Ph.D. from Brunel University. His main research area is in Computational Mechanics and his current research interests are in Solidification Modeling, High Performance Numerics and Multi-Physics simulation.
 

Dr. Mazen Ghoul is an Associate Professor, Chemistry Department, Ph.D., McGill University (1997).

 His research is in theoretical studies in nonequilibrium statistical mechanics
 

Dr. Kamal Khuri-Makdisi (Curriculum Vitae) is a Professor in the Mathematics Department.

He received his doctorate in mathematics from Princeton University and has been an assistant professor at Harvard University. He has also held postdoctoral positions at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton and at McGill University/CICMA, in Montreal.

His fields of interest are number theory and automorphic forms.
 

Dr. Fadel Moukalled (Publications) is a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, which he chaired during the period July 1995 - Sept. 2001. He has been serving as the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture since February 2003.

Prof. Moukalled received his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. His main research area is in Computational Fluid Dynamics and his current research interest is supersonic mixing and evaporation of injected multi-component fuel droplets.
